Devastation Strikes Cooke County

Search and Rescue Operations Ongoing

At least seven people were killed in the town of Valley View in Cooke County, Texas, when severe storms struck the area Saturday night. According to Sheriff Terry Gilbert, a violent tornado touched down in the town, causing widespread damage and loss of life.

Emergency responders are currently conducting search and rescue operations in the affected area. The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but reports indicate that numerous homes and businesses have been destroyed or severely damaged.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that the tornado was an EF-3, with winds estimated at up to 165 mph. The storm system is expected to continue moving eastward, bringing the threat of more severe weather to other parts of the region.

In a somber conclusion, Sheriff Gilbert expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and praised the resilience of the Valley View community.
